Last week, Friday 1st of August, was the opening of one of the most impressive art collections in Miami.

With the delicate style, softness and elegance but with noticeable strength of her collection, she surprised the public at the opening. They found a gallery where light seemed to flow out of the paintings.

For the art specialists, Marjolein van der Sluis, surprised them also, and more important they where astonished. When entering the gallery people found themselves in another world. The appreciation of the grandiosity of her big format artwork, composed by four parts, hanging outside the gallery was overwhelming. Van der Sluis reached her goal and imposed her particular style. A style which, for the demanding public of Miami will be a way to approach the feelings of European woman through the appreciation of turquoise blue.

To enter the American market with such success and acceptance is difficult. To transmit all the emotions with the strength that Marjolein does is not easy. That is the secret of her special touch.

During the opening, the Consul of the Netherlands, spoke words of pride and encouraged Marjolein as he felt her work represents a tradition and history.

The staff that helped Marjolein van der Sluis was characterized from the beginning for its faith and support for her artwork. People like Montserrat Boralla and Pia ‘t Hart, her public relations managers and Raymond van der Lem her  manager were fundamental for her promising career in the United States.
